full yard Round Robin

Ok Im just so excited about this piece.. this was heavily dyed in procion MX dyes in blacks, oranges, greens and browns and blues... just a hodge podge of colors.. originally i just hung it scrunched up hanging over a pole and just pored excess dye down the fabric.. so it was very dark.. I sent it off to Kate in Cyprus and she discharged the piece... which at first scared me because I knew it was so dark... but then again my favorite colors lately have been oranges and what wonderful shades of oranges this turned out.. then Kate shipped it off to Will in The Netherlands and she blew me away!!! using Vermicelli glued to a wooden disk she created this stamp affect and used metalic Probrite textile paints. looking at it hanging on the wall I saw some very cool colors BUT this is the exciting part when I took a picture I turned the cameral sideway and WOOHOO look at those images.. it seems to me to look like a line of ladies holding hands with baskets or ok some funky hairdoo.. all standing on top of flowers.... Now what to do next... this is going to take some study because I love how the images came out... Thanks Kate and Wil! as always im so impressed with the surfacing group I belong too!

Im Back...

Whew.. the holidays are over.... ok ready for 2007?? I Am!! Im franticly working this weekend to finish up on some round robins and pieces I have been hanging over my head since I have been sick since the end of October. then Holidays creeped up and I was way in over my head.. I think we all have been at that point huh?

Well below is a piece of art cloth that I particpated in a round robin.. I took a fat 1/2 yard and dyed it with Procion MX Dye's and mailed it to Wil in the Netherlands. She applied a baking flour resist and cracked it and painted with Probrite black textile paint. Then will shipped it off to Shirly in New Zealand and she added metalic paints and stamped the sun design and added a bit more black... I'm thinking of cutting this up and using in post cards as its been in different countries and its just too cool to sit in my stash..

talk again tomorrow!
